I built an app for my factory video crew.

— MSW/Noor and Machine · 25 September 2026

Pakistan makes almost everything. Almost nobody films it.

I send a camera into its factories. Lahore, Karachi, Faisalabad.

MVYT is the app my team runs it on.

The MVYT front page: the word Pakistan, very large, with the team sign-in underneath
The front door. Everything behind it is for the team.

The work

One factory, start to finish.

A factory we hear about. Permission. The shoot. The footage, reaching me at full resolution. The video, going up.

Every step is a tap on a phone. In Urdu, English or Roman Urdu — each person picks.

The team

Their day, one tap per job.

At the end of the day each cameraman taps what they did. Shoot, lead visit, footage to HQ, travel, leave.

Each tap opens a short form, already filled in with what the app expects.

The app files every answer in the right place.

The daily log in Urdu: shoot and footage-upload chosen, each with its own short pre-filled form
A cameraman's day, in Urdu. Two taps, two short forms.

If the day isn't logged, the app reminds them. At 6 pm, and again at 8:30.

If footage hasn't reached me, it reminds them of that too.

The reminders do the chasing. I don't.

My screen

The business, as it happens.

This is the part that excites me.

The whole business is on my screen, and it changes when the business does.

Every factory. Every shoot. Every gigabyte that reached me — or didn't.

The pipeline: counts for each stage, then the footage on its way to HQ as a card
Counts on top. Then whatever needs me next.

Or all of it as one table. Sorted, filtered and searched however I like.

All videos as a table: ID, factory, product and city, sorted by ID
Search works in any of the three languages.

The team types in Urdu. I read in English.

Claude translates every new entry on my own Mac, every half hour.

The screenshots use made-up factories and numbers.
